We are so excited to share this week’s podcast conversation, it’s one that we’ve been wanting to have for quite a while. Amanda Carey leads NICA, a national organization that is making a huge impact on youth sports, specifically getting kids on bikes and developing skills (and having fun). NICA has directly impacted the outcomes for mountain bike racing in the USA, creating Olympians, World Champions, and World Cup Overall winners. Amanda shares the exact playbook with us during this conversation, and we feel like many other sports could benefit from this same approach.

Amanda Carey and her team at NICA are opening a giant door for the next generation of mountain bikers in the USA (and beyond). The National Interscholastic Cycling Association is a network of mountain biking clubs with proper coaching, training, trail building, racing, and plenty more. While NICA is leading the way in the sport of youth cycling, the fundamentals Amanda shares in this conversation could be applied to any sport discipline that is looking to develop the next generation of participants (and future world champions).
