The Origin And Future Of Breakfast Club
What's it like to have an athletic club so massive that you need a police escort?
Starting Line
Earlier this year, friend-of-the-pod Peter Abraham made a special trip to Austin, Texas to see what all the fuss was about. A cycling group that was so massive it needed a police escort? He came back raving about the organization, and we knew we needed to hear more. This week’s conversation with Grant and Jordie from Breakfast Club is an insightful look at arguably one of the most successful group rides on the planet.
The Origin And Future Of Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club is a massive phenomenon coming out of Austin, Texas. They host group rides of over 800 riders on a monthly basis, dwarfing any other group ride. Beyond the organization of monthly rides, they also maintain an annual membership, an app, and brand partnerships to support the cause - which is necessary when you're providing amenities like police escorts on road rides. In this conversation with Grant Rogers and Jordie Ammons, we learn more about the origins, the experience, and where we might see Breakfast Club heading in the future.
